The building in front of the flag occupied by Chief of Staff, Colonel Alphus Clark, the best officer I ever knew. He was relieved along with General Baldwin and initially charged with failing to provide written disposition of enemy dead as a result of Mary Ann. This charge, brought by the Sec of the Army, Resor was absurd and later dropped. The buildings to the left housed the G-5 and other General staff . General Officer quarters were at the very top near the trailers that housed general staff officers.
