The St. George Mormon Temple, announced on November 9th, 1871, by Brigham Young and dedicated on April 6th, 1877. It is the oldest temple still in use by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
St. George, Utah. Settled by Mormons who wanted to create a "New Dixie." Downwind from A-Bomb tests in the 50's. John Wayne's "The Conqueror" was shot near here and half the cast and crew has died from cancer. Cancer rates among St. George residents are astronomical. Coincidence? Let me check my white blood-cell count.
Looking southeast over St. George, Utah. The Mormon Temple is the white building on the right.
